Also the commentator during the Royal Wedding was saying that European armies adapted this style because it not only added height but also made armies look more menacing or something? He also went on to say - idk if this is 100% correct - that the English adapted it from the French after the battle of Waterloo, supposedly as another way of flipping the French off. Pfft.
